  • Description of therapeutic approaches
  • Professional credentials (RP, CRPO #10979)
  • Appointment availability information
  • Insurance receipt offerings
  • Evidence-based treatment descriptions

PROHIBITED:

  • Client testimonials
  • Outcome guarantees ("cure your anxiety")
  • Superlatives ("best therapist")

  • Endorsements or reviews

CRPO Advertising Standard 6.2 Requirements:

  • All statements must be factual and verifiable
  • Cannot exaggerate conditions treated
  • Cannot suggest CRPO endorsement
  • Must use proper credential display (RP prominently)

Step 6: Schema Markup Generation

MedicalWebPage Schema (Required):

{
  "@context": "https://schema.org",
  "@type": "MedicalWebPage",
  "name": "[Page Title]",
  "description": "[Meta description]",
  "url": "https://nextsteptherapy.ca/[page-slug]",
  "author": {
    "@type": "Person",
    "name": "Jesse Cynamon",
    "jobTitle": "Registered Psychotherapist",
    "credential": {
      "@type": "EducationalOccupationalCredential",
      "credentialCategory": "Professional License",
      "name": "Registered Psychotherapist",
      "recognizedBy": {
        "@type": "Organization",
        "name": "College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario"
      }
    }
  },
  "dateModified": "[YYYY-MM-DD]",
  "datePublished": "[YYYY-MM-DD]",
  "reviewedBy": {
    "@type": "Person",
    "name": "Jesse Cynamon",
    "credential": "CRPO #10979"
  },
  "specialty": "[Condition focus]",
  "lastReviewed": "[YYYY-MM-DD]"
}

FAQPage Schema (Required):

{
  "@context": "https://schema.org",
  "@type": "FAQPage",
  "mainEntity": [
    {
      "@type": "Question",
      "name": "[Question 1]",
      "acceptedAnswer": {
        "@type": "Answer",
        "text": "[Answer 1]"
      }
    }
    // ... 10-12 questions
  ]
}

LocalBusiness Schema (for location pages):

{
  "@context": "https://schema.org",
  "@type": "MedicalBusiness",
  "name": "NextStep Therapy",
  "description": "Virtual psychotherapy services across Ontario",
  "@id": "https://nextsteptherapy.ca",
  "url": "https://nextsteptherapy.ca",
  "telephone": "[Phone Number]",
  "priceRange": "$$",
  "areaServed": {
    "@type": "State",
    "name": "Ontario",
    "containsPlace": {
      "@type": "City",
      "name": "[City Name]"
    }
  },
  "hasCredential": {
    "@type": "EducationalOccupationalCredential",
    "credentialCategory": "Professional License",
    "name": "CRPO #10979"
  }
}

Step 7: Internal Linking Strategy

Topic Cluster Approach:

For anxiety therapy content:

PILLAR: anxiety-therapy-ontario.html
  └── CLUSTER: anxiety-therapy-toronto.html
  └── CLUSTER: anxiety-therapy-burlington.html
  └── CLUSTER: anxiety-therapy-ottawa.html
  └── CLUSTER: students/university-anxiety.html
  └── CLUSTER: professionals/performance-anxiety.html
  └── CLUSTER: blog/managing-anxiety-at-work.html

Linking Rules:

  • Every cluster page links to its pillar page (1-2 times)
  • Pillar pages link to relevant clusters
  • Use keyword-rich anchor text (not "click here")
  • Link to 3-5 related internal pages per piece of content
  • Include at least 1 link to a professional resource (CTA/booking)

Step 8: Content Freshness Signals

Required on all pages:

<p class="author-byline">
  <span class="author-name">Jesse Cynamon, RP</span>
  <span class="author-credential">(CRPO #10979)</span>
</p>
<p class="last-updated">
  Last Updated: <time datetime="2024-12-09">December 2024</time>
</p>

Freshness best practices:

  • Update date when content is revised
  • Quarterly content audits recommended
  • Year in title/meta for trending topics
  • Reference current statistics when available

Humanizing Therapy Content (Anti-AI Detection)

The Problem

Google's AI detection systems (and human readers) can spot generic AI-generated health content. For YMYL content especially, generic or robotic writing destroys trust. This section helps you make therapy content sound human, not algorithmic.

Voice Markers for Therapy Content

AI-generated therapy content sounds like:

  • "In today's fast-paced world, anxiety is increasingly common..."
  • "It's important to note that therapy can help with various mental health concerns..."
  • "Let's dive into the comprehensive benefits of evidence-based treatment..."

Human-written therapy content sounds like:

  • "If anxiety has been making even simple decisions feel exhausting, you're not alone."
  • "Therapy doesn't fix everything overnight. What it does offer is tools, support, and someone who gets it."
  • "Most people wait months before reaching out. I get it—starting therapy feels like a big step."

AI Words to Eliminate from Therapy Content

Banned words (AI tells):

  • Comprehensive / holistic / robust
  • Crucial / vital / essential
  • Leverage / utilize / implement
  • Unlock / unleash / harness
  • Navigate / landscape / journey
  • Delve / dive into / explore deeply
  • Transformational / revolutionary

Therapy-appropriate alternatives:

  • Instead of "comprehensive approach": "I use ACT therapy with psychodynamic awareness"
  • Instead of "navigate your journey": "figure out what's driving this"
  • Instead of "unlock your potential": "develop tools that actually work"
  • Instead of "holistic treatment": "therapy that addresses what you're dealing with"

Banned AI Phrases for Therapy

Never use:

  • "In today's fast-paced world..."
  • "It's important to note that..."
  • "When it comes to mental health..."
  • "Let's dive into..."
  • "At the end of the day..."
  • "In order to..." (just say "to")
  • "Whether you're a student or a professional..." (too generic)
  • "Take your mental health to the next level" (cringe + CRPO violation)

How to Sound Human (Therapy-Specific)

1. Use Personal Voice

AI version:

"Research indicates that cognitive-behavioral interventions demonstrate efficacy in treating anxiety disorders. Therapeutic modalities such as ACT have shown positive outcomes in published studies."

Human version:

"ACT therapy helps with anxiety—not by eliminating it (that's not realistic), but by changing your relationship with it. Research backs this up, but more importantly, I've seen it work."

2. Admit Uncertainty and Limitations

AI never admits limits. Humans do.

Examples:

  • "Therapy doesn't work for everyone. Some people try it and it's not the right fit—and that's okay."
  • "I don't know exactly why some people respond quickly and others take longer. It varies."
  • "Virtual therapy feels weird at first for most people. That usually fades after the first session or two."

3. Use Specific Examples (Without Violating CRPO)

Can't use:

  • "Client X went from anxious to confident" (testimonial + outcome)

Can use:

  • "Most people I work with initially say 'I don't even know where to start.' That's normal."
  • "Common pattern: anxiety gets worse before major life changes, even positive ones."
  • "In first sessions, people often apologize for 'rambling' or 'not making sense.' You don't need to have it all figured out before therapy—that's what therapy is for."

4. Vary Rhythm Dramatically

Short sentence.

Then a longer sentence that builds context, adds nuance, and feels like you're actually explaining something to someone who's trying to understand.

Then short again.

One-word paragraphs.

Sometimes.

Example:

"Starting therapy can feel awkward. You're sitting there (or on a video call) with a stranger, trying to explain what's been going on. Where do you even start?

Honestly, most people feel this way in the first session. That's part of the process. The first few sessions are about getting to know each other and figuring out if it feels like a good fit.

It gets easier."

5. Include Tangents and Asides (Where Appropriate)

AI is perfectly on-topic. Humans digress.

Example:

"ACT stands for Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. (Terrible acronym, I know—'Acceptance' and 'Commitment' both have a 'C,' but somehow we ended up with ACT instead of ACC. Anyway.)

The core idea is this: instead of trying to eliminate anxiety or depression, you learn to accept it's there while still taking action toward what matters to you."

6. Ask Questions, Then Answer Them

AI makes statements. Humans think out loud.

Example:

"Why do people wait so long before starting therapy?

Usually it's one of three reasons: they think they should be able to handle it themselves, they're not sure therapy will actually help, or they're worried about the cost and time commitment.

All valid concerns."

7. Speak Directly to Reader's Experience

AI describes problems generally. Humans get specific.

AI version:

"Anxiety can manifest in various ways, including physiological symptoms and cognitive patterns that impact daily functioning."

Human version:

"Maybe you wake up already worried about the day. Or you're fine until something unexpected happens, and then your brain spirals through every worst-case scenario. Small decisions—what to order at a restaurant, what to say in a meeting—feel heavier than they should."

The Detection Checklist (Therapy-Specific)

Before publishing therapy content, verify:

[ ] No AI words (comprehensive, holistic, journey, unlock, navigate)
[ ] No AI phrases ("in today's world," "it's important to note")
[ ] Not everything in perfect threes (AI loves triples)
[ ] At least one admission of limitation ("Therapy doesn't work for everyone")
[ ] At least one tangent or aside (shows human thinking)
[ ] Sentence lengths vary dramatically (some under 5 words, some over 25)
[ ] Would I actually say this to a client? (Read it out loud)
[ ] Does this sound like Jesse's voice? (Check brand-voice profile)
[ ] Specific examples included (without CRPO violations)
[ ] Questions asked and answered naturally

The Read-Aloud Test

Critical for therapy content.

Read your draft out loud as if you're explaining this to a friend. If you:

  • Stumble over phrases
  • Sound like a textbook
  • Feel embarrassed reading it
  • Notice every sentence is the same length

...then rewrite it.

Therapy content should sound like:

  • A professional who cares
  • Someone who understands what you're going through
  • A real person, not a brochure

Before/After Examples

BEFORE (AI-generated, generic):

"In today's increasingly complex world, mental health challenges are becoming more prevalent. It's crucial to prioritize your wellbeing and seek professional support when needed. Our comprehensive therapeutic approach leverages evidence-based modalities to help you navigate life's challenges and unlock your full potential. We provide a holistic treatment experience designed to empower you on your transformative journey toward optimal mental health."

AFTER (Human, Jesse's voice):

"If you've been dealing with anxiety or depression for a while, you probably already know that 'just think positive' doesn't help. Neither does 'try not to worry.' If it were that easy, you would've done it already.

Therapy doesn't offer magic fixes or quick solutions. What it does offer: tools that actually work, a space to figure out what's driving this, and someone who gets it. Not platitudes—actual support.

I practice person-centered, ACT-informed therapy. Which means: we work together to understand what's going on, I don't give you homework (unless you want it), and the focus is on what matters to you—not what a manual says should matter."

Analysis of changes:

  • Eliminated: "increasingly complex world," "leverage," "holistic," "unlock," "transformative journey," "optimal"
  • Added: Direct acknowledgment of common frustrations, admission of what therapy isn't, specific approach description
  • Rhythm: Short sentences + longer explanations + short again
  • Voice: Sounds like Jesse (person-centered, anti-prescriptive, realistic)

Data Requests

Always ask user for:

  1. Ahrefs data:

    • Search volume for target keyword
    • Keyword difficulty score
    • Related keywords and questions
    • Top 5 competitor URLs for analysis
  2. GSC data:

    • Current rankings for related pages
    • Impressions and CTR
    • Pages that might cannibalize
  3. Existing content:

    • Any thin pages to expand
    • Related blog posts
    • FAQ content from other sources

Error Handling

If target keyword is too competitive: "The keyword '[keyword]' has high difficulty ([X]). I recommend:

  1. Create a long-tail variant page first
  2. Build topic cluster around it
  3. Target the main keyword after establishing authority"

If content might cannibalize existing page: "Warning: You have an existing page targeting similar keywords: [existing URL]. Consider:

  1. Consolidating into one stronger page
  2. Targeting different search intent
  3. Using this new page as a cluster to the existing pillar"

If city has no specific content angle: "For [City] location pages, differentiate with:

  1. Local statistics or context
  2. City-specific FAQ questions
  3. Mention of serving surrounding areas
  4. Local landmarks in accessibility context"
