Brand Guidelines Skill

Overview

This Skill provides Acme Corp's official brand guidelines for creating consistent, professional materials. When creating presentations, documents, or marketing materials, apply these standards to ensure all outputs match Acme's visual identity.

Claude should reference these guidelines whenever creating external-facing materials or documents that represent Acme Corp.

Brand Colors

Our official brand colors are:

  • Primary: #FF6B35 (Coral)
  • Secondary: #004E89 (Navy Blue)
  • Accent: #F7B801 (Gold)
  • Neutral: #2E2E2E (Charcoal)

Color Usage Guidelines

  • Use Primary color for main headings and key call-to-action elements
  • Use Secondary color for body text and supporting elements
  • Use Accent color sparingly for highlights and important notices
  • Use Neutral for backgrounds and subtle text

Typography

Font Families

  • Headers: Montserrat Bold
  • Body text: Open Sans Regular

Size Guidelines

  • H1: 32pt
  • H2: 24pt
  • H3: 18pt
  • Body: 11pt
  • Captions: 9pt

Typography Rules

  • Maintain consistent line spacing (1.5x for body text)
  • Use sentence case for headers unless acronyms or proper nouns
  • Limit text width to 80 characters per line for readability

Logo Usage

Logo Variants

  • Full-color logo: Use on light backgrounds
  • White logo: Use on dark backgrounds
  • Monochrome logo: Use when color printing is not available

Logo Placement Rules

  • Maintain minimum spacing of 0.5 inches around the logo
  • Never distort, rotate, or alter the logo proportions
  • Minimum size: 1 inch width for print, 150px width for digital
  • Position logo in top-left corner of documents or centered on title slides

Document Templates

PowerPoint Presentations

  • Title slide: Logo top-left, title centered using Montserrat Bold 32pt
  • Content slides: Logo small in top-right, headers in Primary color
  • Footer: Page numbers right-aligned, date left-aligned in 9pt

Word Documents

  • Letterhead: Full-color logo top-left
  • Headers: Montserrat Bold in Secondary color
  • Body: Open Sans Regular 11pt in Neutral color
  • Margins: 1 inch on all sides

Marketing Materials

  • Use high-resolution logo files (minimum 300 DPI)
  • Include tagline when space permits: "Innovation Through Excellence"
  • Maintain 60% white space for visual clarity

When to Apply

Apply these guidelines whenever creating:

  • PowerPoint presentations for clients or stakeholders
  • Word documents for external sharing
  • Marketing materials (brochures, flyers, social media graphics)
  • Reports for clients
  • Email signatures
  • Website content
  • Branded templates

Do NOT Apply For

  • Internal draft documents
  • Personal notes or brainstorming
  • Code documentation
  • Technical specifications (unless customer-facing)

Image Guidelines

Photography Style

  • Use bright, natural lighting
  • Show real people in authentic work environments
  • Avoid stock photo clichés
  • Apply subtle filters in brand colors when appropriate

Icon Style

  • Use line icons with 2px stroke weight
  • Icon color should match Primary or Secondary brand colors
  • Maintain consistent sizing (24px or 48px for digital)

Quality Checklist

Before finalizing any branded material, verify:

  • All colors match the official brand palette
  • Typography uses Montserrat and Open Sans
  • Logo is correctly positioned with proper spacing

  • All images are high resolution (300 DPI for print)
